| Hello, My name is Leanne Alexander Lowman, and I am the designer and original seamstress of the CarolinaPurse. It all started when I grew weary of purses that were too big, too small, too deep, too dark and so on! So I piled all of my purse stuff on the table and the development process began. I made my first prototype, then my second and on until I finally hit on the current design. It all came together over a period of 5 years, of making and using each design. I had no intention of turning the idea into a business. However, the design caught the eye of other women who began asking for a purse of their own. Eventually the demand became greater than my ability to produce. My employer at the time, allowed me to set up a manufacturing line in our plant so that I could make my first 100 handbags. A friend who owns a shoe store, provided an outlet for my first retail sells. Through word of mouth and local advertising the CarolinaPurse has moved from infancy to adolescence, and I have been the proud parent. It has been a challenge to find local manufacturing. But I am proud to have found a few facilities located in South Carolina. The CarolinaPurse has become a full time business and I am dedicated to supporting manufacturing and business in the Carolinas and the United States.
